Contact Group Prepare Young People for the World of Work

Posted on 19 January 2017 in All news

Contact Group are delighted to be involved in a local enterprise project to inspire and prepare young people for their future employment.

Customer Engagement Manager, Paul Hoinville, is one of a national network of Enterprise Advisers volunteering their time and expertise to make it easier for schools to connect with local employers.

Advisers involved in the programme meet once per month with their school and also attend a meeting once every term with other Enterprise Advisers to share good practice.  Paul is currently working with his partner school, Lansbury Bridge in St Helens.

As an organisation that develops products for the education sector, we are well placed to facilitate great communication between schools and businesses.  We can advise schools on the skills employers are looking for and inspire the next generation of employees about the career opportunities available, including those right here at Contact Group.

Enterprise Adviser Programme

The Enterprise Adviser Programme has been developed by the Careers and Enterprise Company, working together with Local Enterprise Partnerships.  The project is being co-ordinated in the St Helens and Halton area by St Helens Chamber. Eighteen local schools and colleges are currently participating in the project, which nationwide has seen the involvement of over 1000 business leaders so far.

The project will continue for the remainder of this academic year and we look forward to updating you on how Paul is getting on.
