UK Market Leading Communication Technology Provider Announces New Contract with Thurrock Council
The Contact Group, one of the UK’s market leaders in communication technology and data services have recently secured a new contract with Thurrock Council. Based in Birmingham and Cheshire, The Contact Group supply a number of technology solutions to education institutions and local authorities throughout the UK and Ireland. Their range of products include Looked After Call, which allows local education authorities to monitor looked after children’s assessment progress and attendance both in and out of the local area.
Looked After Call automatically gathers important data such as attendance, personal details, behaviour, assessment SEN status, school history and exclusions, all of which can be viewed online, in real time via the Virtual School. Gathering this information allows LEA’s to safeguard at risk children, ensuring that they are able to make academic progress no matter where they are educated. All information can be accessed immediately, providing early opportunities for intervention, when needed.
Thurrock Council went to tender following the end of their contract with a previous supplier. The Contact Group put in a successful bid to win a two year deal, with the option to extend the contract by a further year. In providing the Looked After Call product, they will monitor 330 students both in and out of the Thurrock borough, which is estimated to have a population of 161,000. The contract commenced from the 1st of September 2016, as the new academic year started.
The Contact Group Managing Director, James Harrison said “We are delighted to win the Thurrock business as it increases our presence in this area of the country, bringing our total client base to 24, with 7 authorities in the London and South East area choosing Looked After Call for their monitoring of looked after children.”
